The tides ebb and flow and make their marks on the island shoreline. Looking around I see the color, the shape, the texture, and the shine that has drawn us to this place since the 1860s. What I’m looking at is Deer Isle granite. I made a series of quad-exposure tide portraits and imitation granite watercolors based on the wide variety of granite found on Sheep Island.
Hold it in your hands,
The beauty don’t stop.
